This qualifies as an entry level wine from Patz & Hall, a Pinot Noir under $50. That said, it’s a serious Pinot from the ever-growing Sonoma Coast region. This vintage, excellent throughout Sonoma County, is meaty and savory, with outstanding richness and weight on the palate without being heavy. The fruit profile trends to the darker red fruits, and there is an inviting floral note that gets better as the wine gets air. Superb effort from one of America’s truly great Pinot producers.
