Pedroncelli is not resting on its laurels, even at 97 years of age. This inaugural-release wine comes from a specific block on the estate Home Ranch Vineyard that was replanted eight years ago with the Rockpile clone. Head pruned in traditional style, it’s ready for its close-up as a standalone offering. An intense Saigon cinnamon nose kicks things off, joined by taut berry fruit and American oak-based dill notes. The palate is dry, bright and peppery, with the pepper serving to deepen the fruit character and keep the overall package well reined in. Enjoy this with grilled meats of any color.
