Pepper Bridge Winery, Walla Walla Valley (Washington) Sauvignon Blanc 2024 ($36)

It was only a matter of time before Bordeaux red wine specialist Pepper Bridge added Sauvignon Blanc to its lineup, which it finally did in 2013. This 2024 was blended with 16% Semillon and was aged in a combination of concrete egg and French oak, only 8% of it new. As soon as it reaches the glass it gets your full attention with a snappy aroma of tropical fruit, lemongrass, and chalky minerality. The flavors are concentrated and the texture is rich, yet its vibrant melon, lime, and flinty character remains in focus and takes you to a brisk, mouth-watering finish.
