Pilcrow was founded by winemakers Sara and Jonah Beer, and is their nod to those who created some of Napa Valley’s most iconic wines from the 1960s through the 1980s. Their 2019 Mt. Veeder Hillwalker Cabernet Sauvignon opens with fragrant crushed blueberries, plum skin, and aromas of violet, black olive, and crushed rocks. This is elegant, fine, and fresh, possessing great poise and finishing on a lingering mineral note. This has instant appeal, although it will likely evolve nicely over the next decade and could easily outperform many Bordeaux Grand Cru Classés.
