I’m a fan of this producer – the aromatic development is clearly a focus in each of their products, and perhaps more so in the vintage ports. Spiced orange leaps from the glass, with rich chocolate not far behind. The palate shows concentrated berry fruit, lively spice, and the orange promised by the nose enhances everything. The finish brings out the toasted nut character of the oak, which will continue to fold into the fruit with age. Well done!
