Aaaahhhh… here is the rare and elusive Rkatsiteli, in this offering far from its origins in both age and location. A variety that traces its roots back to the nation of Georgia thousands of years ago (thanks to the wonders of DNA testing of ancient amphorae) finds a suitable home in North Carolina, making a delicious acid-driven wine that is really its own sort of animal. Lemon, lime and white flowers scents translate to lemon-driven flavors with a biting finish that’s perfect for creamy seafood dishes. Nice!
