The 2017 Barolo Marcenasco from Renato Ratti is a beautifully balanced and elegant wine. While the warmth of the vintage is noticeable, the wine remains refined, avoiding the heaviness of overt ripeness. The nose is captivating, with perfumed notes of cherries, strawberries, and dried flowers. On the palate, the wine is rich and structured, with firm, fine tannins that provide depth and complexity. The finish is long, energetic, and focused on length and finesse. It’s exceptional now, but this is a Barolo that promises to evolve and remain vibrant for another 10 to 15 years, continuing to reveal its remarkable character over time.
