Lush and concentrated, with a pleasant hoist of tartness to counterbalance both the ripe fruit and the alcohol, the 2012 “Clarion” (made from equal parts Zinfandel, Petite Sirah, Syrah, and Marsanne) proves that even the biggest, richest wine can be harmonious when its many diverse elements are astutely choreographed into a graceful ensemble.
