Rhys is located in Los Gatos, California, and has vineyard holdings in two distinctive AVA’s – Santa Cruz Mountains and Anderson Valley in Mendocino County. This sparkler is a blend from both areas and across six vintages beginning in 2016. Hence the California designation, which you won’t often see on a wine in this price tier. The combination is a big payoff, offering a vibrant nose of jasmine and pear backed with notes of sea spray and lemon. The palate is bright and complex, with great balance and weight that push through a long, zesty finish where a soft nutty note joins. Great stuff!
