This second Chardonnay I tasted from Rhys Vineyards is another winner, and it offers a very different profile than the Horseshoe Vineyard. There is more depth and complexity here, a touch more ripeness letting out a little pineapple and pear character, and plenty of brightness from vibrant acidity that tames the richness to just the right level. This is just starting to show itself – as delightful as it is now, it has a long life ahead.
