Rodney Strong, Alexander Valley (Sonoma County, California) Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Apr 22, 2015

By Michael Apstein

With its ripe dark fruit character, Rodney Strong’s 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon clearly reflects its origins, the Alexander Valley, the second warmest (behind Knights Valley) AVA of Sonoma County.  The dense black fruit character is laced with allspice and other exotic notes.  The 15% stated alcohol imparts roundness, which, along with plush tannins, makes it a good choice for current drinking with a big steak.
