A bright spicy cherry nose leads to a tart cherry palate, with moderate toast, a little lemon zest in the medium finish where a sweet oak note pops up. It’s a fairly simple Pinot Noir, but it’s nicely balanced and quite enjoyable. I’ve been impressed by the whole line of food and drink under this label at Albertsons/Vons – and how often do you see a major appellation on a store brand? Kudos!
