The Klosterneuburg Monastery Wine Estate, established in 1114, is Austria’s oldest winery. From the region of Gumpoldskirchen in Thermenregion south of Vienna, this is a traditional blend of Austrian natives Zierfandler and Rotgipfler. These grapes apparently share a similar parentage of Savagnin and Roter Veltliner. No wonder they get along so well in this delightful, easy drinking wine with apple, peach, citrus and pineapple flavors. It has a bit of sweetness, which is perfectly balanced by crisp acidity. Perfect for sipping by the fire, or served with a chicken stir fry or fried calamari.
