The winery flagship delivers the goods as usual in this vintage, embracing the vintage with a lighter than usual style, but not coming across as anything but top shelf. Mourvèdre is out front here, and it’s mix of funk and dark fruit gets a boost from the red fruit and pepper of Grenache, and the blue fruit and meaty character of Syrah. It’ll show best alongside roast birds — chicken, turkey, pheasant — you get the idea. Contains 40% Mourvèdre, 28% Grenache, 22% Syrah, 4% Vaccarese, 3% Counoise and 3% Cinsault.
