On a small hill between the Jezreel Valley and Lower Galilee lies a unique community called Kfar Tikvah meaning “Village of Hope." Kfar Tikva is a community village comprised of adults with developmental and emotional disabilities. It’s here that the Itzhaki family fulfilled their long-time dream of starting a boutique winery that practices social responsibility by providing adults with special needs meaningful employment and the opportunity to create high-quality wine. The 2016 Syrah Reserve (also with 5% Petit Verdot from the Judean Hills) is robust with aromas and flavors of plump black cherries, black plums, black peppercorn, and black olives. The wine has dusty tannins and a well-calibrated acidity structure. It is an ideal opportunity to explore the beauty of Israeli wine.
