This fruit was picked just before the Glass Fire that took away a huge swath of the 2020 harvest in Napa Valley. There is a different sort of green note on the nose, but it’s not unattractive, and it leads to a very correct Cabernet palate, with blackberry, cassis and fall spice. It is a solid effort, and it’s likely one of the few 2020s with a fair amount available — and that at a nice price for the appellation.
