This wine takes its name from El Rio De Las Calaveras. It’s a fine presentation of Mourvedre, delivering blackberry, black cherry, damp earth, pepper, flowers and a touch of sarsaparilla on a bed of structured acidity and firm tannic grip that carries through the long finish that focuses on the earth and spice notes. Bring on the braised lamb for a dazzling pairing.
