Most grapes in Argentina’s Mendoza region are grown at high altitudes, but this Pinot Noir vineyard in the province’s northwest sector “on the road to Chile” claims to be the highest at 6,500 feet. Although crisp in structure, the wine nevertheless has honeyed and fresh apple flavors with good bubble intensity and hints of greener fruits in the finish. This is one of those omnibus sparkling wines that is complex enough yet balanced enough to be used in most settings.
