Vietti is one of a handful of producers whose wines never fail to impress. I doubt that they have ever made an undistinguished wine. You can safely buy anything Vietti makes. This Langhe Nebbiolo displays understated elegance and wonderful austerity. The tannins are apparent, but finely polished. They are not intrusive, but rather add an appealing firmness to the wine. Not a good choice as an aperitivo-type wine, it is ideal to accompany a meaty beef or game dish. Drink now or over the next five years.
