WillaKenzie Estate, Yamhill-Carlton (Willamette Valley, Oregon) “Tourdion” Cuvée Blanc 2022 ($45)

What if you’re a winemaker who loves to blend and who has the access to a lot of different varieties, and it occurs to you that you could make a white blend using only grapes that had “Pinot” in the name? What fun! WillaKenzie shares that fun with us in this enjoyable mixture of Pinot Noir (40%, but with little skin contact so no color), Pinot Gris (22%), Pinot Blanc (19%) and Pinot Meunier (13%, again without the color). The finished product has rounded structure with both tart lime-lemon and fruitier juicy apple flavors, lots of skin notes, good minerality and crisp but light tannins.
