My first go-round with the Yao Ming label lands in the positive column in a big way. It’s almost 100% Cabernet, with small amounts of Merlot and Petit Verdot, and is a delicious mix of classic Napa Valley aromas and flavors delivered over sweet oak spice and soft herbs. It’s not overpowering at all, but sits in what I call the sweet spot for Napa Cabernet – drinkable now, but structured to age well, and made in a style that will please a wide array of drinkers.
