This wine is produced from Malbec planted in 1974 and grown in alluvial soil at 980 meters in altitude. The wine is from the esteemed La Consulta area of Mendoza, and shows its origins. The deep purple and ruby-highlighted color and magenta rim are classic Malbec. The nose is pretty, showing ripe fruit, desiccated violets, and meaty notes. The palate is big and plush with cassis, blackberry, and black cherry fruit, a hint of anise, floral qualities, and spice from well-done oak treatment. The wine has depth and meaty texture. The long finish is balanced with both fruit and oak.
