Ram’s Gate, Sonoma Coast (Sonoma Coast, California) Pinot Noir 2010

Ram’s Gate is known for their small batch single vineyard Pinot Noirs and Chardonnays, which tend to be big and bold. This Pinot Noir from Sangiacomo Vineyards Roberts Road leads with gorgeous aromas of red fruits, spice and herbal notes. Sweet cherry-like red fruit nuances dominate the palate and finish. Lighter styled than their Russian River Bush Crispo Vineyards offering, it shows that the Burgundians don’t have a monopoly on the importance of site in determining style of wine.
