Joseph Drouhin, Cote de Beaune (Burgundy, France) 2009

Oct 26, 2011

By Robert Whitley

Though light in body, especially for this vintage, the Drouhin Cote de Beaune delivers intense strawberry aroma on the nose, and that remains consistent on the palate. This wine is lovely, delicate and well balanced, and shows a floral note of violets and a savory note of earthy mushrooms. It is so approachable now I could easily recommend it for near-term consumption, but history and my memory tell me it will be even better in five to seven years.
