Raw Power, South Australia (Australia) Shiraz 2008

Feb 23, 2011

By Paul Lukacs

The label doesn’t lie.  This is a big wine, full of exuberance and brawn, with plenty of concentration, extract, and yes, alcohol (the bottle lists 14.9%).  At the same time, though, it doesn’t really taste wild or raw, but instead it exhibits surprising balance and harmony.  That combination of muscle and grace is what makes it well worth buying.
