Damilano, Barbera d’Asti (Piedmont, Italy) 2009

Feb 9, 2011

By Paul Lukacs

Good Piedmontese Barbera offers full flavor but a light to medium body, making it very versatile at the supper table.  (No wonder it tends to be the wine of choice in restaurants in the region.)  This is a very good one, with both fresh and dried fruit flavors, and an enticing because spicy finish.  There is plenty of acidity to keep everything in balance, further adding to its appeal as a dinner partner.
