Premium Virginia wineries are no longer being apologetic about their intentions nor the quality of their wines and what they charge for them. Along with RdV, which recently sold to the French family than owns Château Montrose, Early Mountain has become an iconic winery that is daring to make great wines. This white, from the increasingly recognized Petit Manseng grape, is wonderfully structured with good freshness yet excellent complexity of flavors – apple, honeycomb, a light spiciness, and wood notes among them. Vibrant yet with substance.
