This wine starts in the glass with a deep, opaque mulberry color. It offers fairly complex aromas recalling red and black cherry and tart plum, followed by sweeter notes of oak and baking spice. The wine is well balanced in the mouth with deeper flavors of graphite and cedar in the finish. The finely textured tannins are sufficient to counter the sweetness of the new oak, my only concern is the slightly hot finish.
