Cooper Mountain Vineyards, Willamette Valley (Oregon) Pinot Noir 2011

Apr 12, 2013

By Robert Whitley

If it’s true that biodynamic farming is all the rage in Oregon winemaking, it’s equally true that the wines being made are the most convincing argument for the bio approach. Cooper Mountain’s 2011 Pinot Noir is a case in point. This is a firmly structured pinot in the Burgundian tradition, with earthy nuances of cola and forest floor, tart raspberry fruit and a dash of spice on the finish. And it’s simply one of the most compelling pinots you will find at this modest price.
