Taliano Michele, Barbaresco (Piedmont, Italy) 2010

Jun 9, 2013

By Michael Franz

Expressive, even punchy aromatics show ripe, intense red fruit scents backed by commensurately intense scents of oak.  This was among the most dramatic of the 2010 Barbareschi, with very ripe and flavorful fruit that also shows real complexity, with balsamic and savory undertones.  Despite the dramatics, the wine isn’t heavy or hard, showing phenomenal depth and intricacy without a lot of weight.  Extremely impressive.
