Dandelion Vineyards, Barossa Valley (South Australia) Shiraz 2010

By

This is a dark-colored wine that stains the glass a deep purple. The expressive nose is concentrated, showing stewed dark fruits including black plum, cherry, and blackberry. However, the emphasis is on the violet floral notes that leap from the glass. The floral note is backed by smoke and black pepper. A combination of powerful fruit and elegant structure form a well-knit and well-balanced whole. Full body, moderate acidity, and ripe tannins lead to a long finish.
