Domaine Brusset, Cairanne Côtes du Rhône Villages (Rhône Valley, France) 2010

 An excellent representative of an outstanding vintage in the southern Rhône, this wine strikes a perfect balance between clarity and purity, on one hand, and intriguing earthiness on the other.  Abundantly endowed with richness and flavor, it nevertheless shows fresh acidity and good tannic grip in the finish.  Capable of improving for another few years, this is nevertheless already quite delicious, and is well suited to almost any white or red meat from the late summer grill.
