This is a striking, serious Merlot that shows both red and black berry fruit and lots of firm structure. The tannins are abundant but well measured, and notable wood influence from a mix of 70% French and 30% American oak contributes additional grip and complexity, but the wine never turns hard or astringent. Bloody impressive wine.
