Technically the 2012 vintage of Clos de Gilroy is a Grenach-Syrah-Mourvedre (GSM in the lingo of the wine trade) blend, but with the majority (84 percent) of it being biodynamically farmed Grenache from Monterey’s Alta Loma Vineyard Grenache gets top billing on the label. It’s a delicious red for near-term consumption, exhibiting bright red-fruited aromas, an inviting touch of white pepper, and scintillating minerality.
