BenMarco, Mendoza (Argentina) Cabernet Sauvignon 2009

Oct 12, 2011

By Paul Lukacs

A very impressive, substantial red wine, marked by rich dark fruit flavors enhanced by echoes of savory spice, dark chocolate, and an intriguing minerality that resembles, in the bouquet, graphite and pencil lead, not unlike a classy red Bordeaux.  A great many Argentinean reds sacrifice complexity for juicy accessibility.  Not this one.  It delights because it is so deliciously multi-layered.
