Dama de Toro, Toro (Castilla y León, Spain) Tempranillo 2009

Oct 13, 2010

By Michael Apstein

Though the muscular signature of wines from Toro is apparent, this wine remains lively and well balanced.  There’s an engaging combination of spice, earthy notes and black cherry-like fruit. Mild tannins impart structure in this mid-weight wine without intruding. It has more substance–as befitting a wine from this DO–than the winery’s Peromato (also reviewed this week).
