Zin fans like to say there are two basic styles of Zinfandel: the so-called claret or Bordeaux style and the lush, fruity, slightly jammy style. Artezin winemaker Randle Johnson prefers the latter style. Sourced from three counties and aged in used French oak barrels, this juicy Zin, with a small measure of Petite Sirah, has a deep ruby color, fresh ripe berry and spice aromatics, layers of subtle jammy fruit flavors, substantial tannins and 14.7% alcohol. Good structure and a lush fruity mouth feel carry this wine.
