Merlot often gets a bum rap (and not just in the movies). When well-made, from grapes grown in appropriate locales, the wine can be just as deeply-flavored as Cabernet, though often with a more supple mouth-feel. This is a good example. It tastes of dark cherries and plums, with an echo of chocolate in the finish, and offers admirable depth and length. Impressive!
