Buena Vista Winery, Sonoma County (California) 2008

Feb 29, 2012

By Gerald D. Boyd

The Count, a blend of Merlot, Syrah and Zinfandel, is an homage to Count Agoston Haraszthy, founder of Buena Vista in 1857.  Aged for 16 months in a combination of French, Hungarian and American oak the wine has a deep purple-ruby color, medium jammy nose with subtle oak accents, dry, plump flavors, brisk acidity, full tannins, 14.5% alcohol and a medium tart finish with a little heat.
