Brancaia, Toscano Rosso (Italy) 2010

Jan 2, 2013

By Michael Apstein

This wines’ name, Tre, refers to the blend of three grapes, Sangiovese (80%), and equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, that come from the producer’s three estate vineyards throughout Tuscany. A marvelous blend, with no one grape dominating, it is long and polished, but not too much so. Herbal notes still peek through the dark fruit notes. Lively acidity keeps it fresh.
