Gnarly Head, Lodi (California) Cabernet Sauvignon 2016

 A very successful wine and an outstanding bargain, this Cabernet shows Lodi at its best, with quite ripe blackberry fruit notes with good intensity and depth of flavor… and that’s just about it, as the oak signature is admirably light.  That reflects good decision-making, as the fruit in this is so delicious that it deserved to be left to hold center stage.  A Double Gold award winner at the 2018 Toast of the Coast Wine Competition.
