There is a renaissance going on in San Diego County, and Jim Hart is leading the charge with some very solid wines. This Carignan is sourced from McCormick Ranch in Pauma Valley, and shows a fine mix of cherry, blueberry, raspberry, soft oak spice and moderate toasty notes. It’s quite Languedoc in style, with fully expressed flavors in a medium extraction. It’s going on my Thanksgiving table. Well done!
