Il Carbonaione is a beautiful, layered and luscious rendition of Sangiovese from high elevation vines above Greve in Chianti. Its pure black cherry, blackberry and red cherry fruits are enhanced by hints of smoke, herbs, spices, licorice and violets. The finish is nuanced and long, with the pure fruit and spice elements lingering pleasantly. It is an outstanding example of Sangiovese that can be enjoyed now or cellared for a decade.
