Fox Run Vineyards is located on the shores of Seneca Lake. While best known for Rieslings and other whites, their cool climate red wines deserve attention as well. The Cabernet Franc / Lemberger (50 / 50 blend) shows the attractive characteristics of both varieties. The bouquet shows black cherry, red cherry and blackcurrant fruits with hints of green herbs, graphite and black pepper. The red and black cherry fruit flavors are underscored by elements of coriander seed, strawberry, savory herbs and black pepper. The herbal style of the Cabernet Franc is embellished by the silky smoothness of the Lemberger.
