Caves Velhas, Dão (Portugal) 2012

By Marguerite Thomas

Catedral is truly a good investment for any wine lover.  For a trifling $11 you get a big red wine that is gutsy but by no means a fruit bomb.  Taut and concise, Catedral, offers chocolate, prune and raisin flavors offset by a finish that is tangy, refreshing and long lasting.  A blend of Tinta Roriz (50%), Alfrocheiro (30%) and Touriga-Nacional (20%).
