This wine comes from the very southern reaches of The Paso Robles AVA — a cooler spot that makes for a different style of Zinfandel than its northern neighbors. This offering is quite wild berry driven, with lively oak spice, pepper and a citrus note that keeps things bright. Decant this a while, or give it a few years in the bottle to fully integrate the oak.
