The Gap’s Crown vineyard gains in stature each vintage, and there’s a simple explanation. It has quickly become one of the most reliable pinot noir vineyards in all of California. This Sonoma Coast site delivers with intense, pure fruit aromas (in the Patz & Hall from 2014 it’s a seductive raspberry note) and bright acidity that keeps the wine alive. The 2014 also exhibits a firm grip on the finish, which bodes well for its potential to improve over the next several years if cellared properly.
