Bodega Garzon is a remarkably ambitious vineyard and winery project, and a property that needs to be seen to be believed — and even then, it is hard to believe. The wines released to this point have all been exemplary in quality and amazingly strong in terms of value, and this release is yet another case in point. Very expressive in aroma and flavor, it shows plenty of spicy toasty oak up top, but there’s so much dark-toned, meaty, forceful fruit that the effect is harmonious all the way through the very long finish. Superb material, expertly wrought. Platinum Award winner at the 2016 San Diego International Wine & Spirits Challenge.
