The Merlot masters at Duckhorn are more than happy to let the variety speak its own language — there’s no Cabernization of the grape’s unique profile here, just classic black cherry, dried herbs and cassis joined by smoky oak and a touch of vanilla. It’s rich and ripe, with supple tannins and a long finish that brings some blueberry character into the mix. As always, a great bottle of Merlot, and with 63000 cases produced, you should have no trouble finding it. Contains 7% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Petit Verdot, 2% Cabernet Franc and 1% Malbec.
