This was a very good vintage in the Chianti region and Piccini made the most of it with its straight-up Chianti Classic, a well-constructed Chianti that combines the classic black cherry notes of Chianti with firm acidity and slightly grippy tannins. This is a Chianti that will benefit from a few additional years in the cellar, but no one should hesitate to serve it now with grilled meats or savory pasta dishes.
